Our Addiction Treatment Works for Busy Parents

We offer an addiction treatment ideal for busy parents. With the stress of modern family life, needing to work to earn enough to support a family or caring for children, it is increasingly common for parents to feel stressed and anxious. Some learn how to cope with the stress using healthy methods like exercise while others turn to drugs and alcohol. Those who do often realize that alcohol makes everything worse and need to seek help to overcome their addiction. We are here to provide that support.

Parents have additional challenges when overcoming addiction

For parents there are challenges to seeking treatment since children depend on their parents to provide 24-hour care; seeking help at a treatment facility may not be an option. Even in two-parent households, this can be difficult when everyone is sharing responsibility for things like picking up children from school, taking them to soccer practice or making dinner.

It is not feasible for a parent to leave their children for an extended period. Fortunately, we offer outpatient addiction treatment that allows busy parents to maintain an active and demanding lifestyle.

Outpatient addiction treatment works

Our approach to addiction is comprehensive, yet we do not require patients to live at our facility. In fact, our treatment is discreet and makes it easier to overcome addiction.

How can outpatient treatment be effective?

It is simple. We use medication to help patients stop using drugs or drinking alcohol. This medication works to reduce and often eliminate the withdrawal symptoms that can be severe. In a normal situation when an addict is withdrawing, he or she can experience symptoms like:

  • Shakes
  • Vomiting
  • Weakness
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Pain
  • Sweats and fevers

By taking the medication, our patients can avoid the symptoms and be withdrawing from drugs or alcohol will maintain their lifestyle. Therefore, there is no need to check into a facility.

We also recommend therapy

An addiction treatment would not be complete without therapy to address the causes of the addiction and to identify factors that can help to facilitate that addiction. For example, an underlying cause of using drugs and alcohol could be stress. Then, some family members or friends could help to facilitate the addiction by using drugs themselves.

It is important to identify these factors and then work to eliminate them or avoid them. Then, it is necessary to come up with better coping mechanisms that make it possible to make healthy choices when feeling stressed or overwhelmed. These are things we can help to establish during therapy sessions. Taking the time to do sowill make it more likely that a person will get off drugs and alcohol and remain sober.

It is common to try more than once

Anyone who has tried addiction treatment in the past and has relapsed should try again. It can take several attempts to remain sober. We understand this and do not judge. Instead, we are here to provide support as many times as it takes.
