Dr. Danielle Simmons, DNP, is a doctoral-prepared, board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have been a psychiatric nurse since 2012. I received my doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of South Carolina with a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specialty in 2018. Prior to Future Psych Solutions, I worked full-time in outpatient psychiatry practices treating patients in Buffalo, NY, and then the DC Metropolitan area. I relocated back to South Carolina in August 2023. I have experience working with patients from various countries, ethnicities, cultures, educational levels, socioeconomic statuses, religions, and sexual orientations. My patient population includes adolescents and adults. I diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of psychiatric disorders ranging from mood, anxiety, thought/psychosis, trauma-related, attention deficits, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. I also serve clients in the LGBTQ+ community. My focus includes pharmacological interventions and alternative medications/interventions to include ketamine treatment. I value patient-centered care. I value open communication and seek to establish a psychologically safe environment where patients can freely discuss their concerns. I encourage active collaboration with my patients and share decision-making regarding their care and desired outcomes. I acknowledge patients’ care preferences, explore treatment options with my patients, and involve them in the design of their treatment. I also enjoy educating my patients, recommending lifestyle changes, and promoting wellness.
